Description
Drawn in 1979, this is the oldest drawing for sale in the gallery. I was just out of college, newly married and with a baby on the way (hi, Blayre). This was one of my first attempts at the kind of detail my work is known for today and was an effort to depict the loneliness and uncertainty of a young man on the cusp of adulthood. Yes. I know the central figure should have been a young woman. More poetic that way. I get it. Suffice to say, I wasn’t thinking about it like that at the time. This is the only drawing of mine in which the original is lost. I gave it to someone who swore they could show it to a gallery owner, and of course, they were lying and I never saw it or them again. More lessons of adulthood.
